Fashion ecommerce · my own business

Bringing ecommerce figures, stock decisions and responsibilities together.

Operations and stock tools built inside the fashion ecommerce business I run.

The problem

What needed to change.

A growing ecommerce business makes the same decisions every week: what is selling, what is about to run out, what to reorder, who is handling which task, and how each customer issue should be resolved. The information sits across Shopify, spreadsheets, supplier files and inboxes.

This is my own business, so the work below is not a client endorsement. It is where I test and refine the tools I build for others.

How it works

The workflow, start to finish.

01 · Data
Pull the figures
Sales, stock and orders come in from Shopify and supporting files.
02 · Insight
See the pressure
Stock cover and size-level pressure show what needs attention.
03 · Prepare
Build the order
Reorder quantities and supplier workbooks are prepared for review.
04 · Decide
Approve and act
Purchasing stays a human decision, made with the evidence in one pack.
My role

I run operations in the business and built the tools myself, from the data model through to the supporting documents the team uses.

What the work included
  • An internal business hub with 30 working screens
  • Shopify reporting and stock insights
  • Lead-time and stock-cover planning
  • Supplier purchase-order workbooks with SKU and barcode preparation
  • Work ownership, decision packs and editable planning documents
  • Customer-care integration and evidence-review workflows
The result

Where it stands.

A set of working tools that make operational information and proposed decisions easier to review, with supporting documents the business can edit and use.

Status

Internal tools · local hub application. Working internal prototype run on a local machine. Shared team access and further system connections are the next stage. Financial models in this work are planning scenarios, not reported results.
