Making a technical product range easier to explore and compare.

The problem

What needed to change.

Technical equipment is hard to buy online. Customers need to understand the differences between models, work out which suits their property, and ask the right questions before they enquire.

The retailer also needed its supplier product information turned into a coherent, branded catalogue.

How it works

The workflow, start to finish.

01 · Explore
Browse the range
Structured model pages with clear specifications.
02 · Compare
Weigh the options
Side-by-side comparison of the models that matter.
03 · Find
Match to the property
A four-step finder narrows the range to suitable models.
04 · Enquire
Ask with context
Postcode enquiries arrive with the customer's needs attached.
My role

I built the storefront and its buying tools, and developed the product naming, catalogue copy and launch handover materials.

What the work included
  • A custom native Shopify theme with 12 model pages
  • Product comparison and a four-step property finder
  • Ten information and tool pages and four buying guides
  • Postcode enquiries, manuals and support content
  • Product-brand naming, catalogue copy and a launch completion register
The result

Where it stands.

An implemented storefront and set of buying tools, ready for the remaining commercial setup and launch checks.

Status

Development storefront · launch pending. Built in a password-protected development store. The finder was checked across all 256 answer combinations, which is functional test coverage rather than a guarantee of product suitability. Public launch and order setup are separate steps.
